In the 1980s/1990s, there were also different types of datecodes present (3 digit, etc.), you should consult an expert in vintage handbags if you are looking at pieces from this era. Older bags from the early 2000s may have a month/year format, in the mid-2000s LV switched to the Week/Year format discussed in this video. I know the week/year formula works from at least 2007 on, since 2007 is when I started purchasing LV items. These types of datecodes are present in modern Louis Vuitton handbags and the datecode has changed a bit over time.
